Disable Connection To Network Drives

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

If your computer is connected to a LAN (Local Area Network), Windows XP has a feature “Map Network Drive” which will make you access other computer’s file easier. With Network Drive, you can access other drive that connected with your computer via LAN or WLAN.
But, this will make your computer booting process slower. If the other computer that connected to your computer is off, the it will take a long time for Windows to detect it.
If Network Drive is rarely used, I suggest you to disable the connection. Here’s how :

1. Open Windows Explorer
2. Right click Network Drive
3. Choose Disconnect

Now, your booting process is faster than before. I suggest you to subscribe because this blog is updated daily!
