The review of Spongebob Squarepants game for PSP

Let’s see what’s Spongebob Squarepants are doing in Bikini Bottom

Sony’s Play Station Portable (PSP) was launched with its own set of exclusive games, such as Spongebob Squarepants the game. However, over time, many PlayStation games were re-released for downloading and playing on the PSP. There are currently 3 ways that this can be done; using a PC as an intermediary, directly connecting the PSP to the internet or through the PlayStation Network service. Commercial PSP game demos can be downloaded directly onto a memory stick and booted from there or given as promotional content in UMD format to customers.

The PlayStation Store is Sony’s virtual market for the PSP and offers downloadable content online, a few of which are free of cost while the others have to be purchased. These include full games, themes, add-on content and playable demos. Going by the 170 million plus downloads till the middle of 2008, this site is a very popular means of getting content for the over 52 million units of PSP that had been sold till earlier this year.

One of the upcoming video games for the PSP is taken from a very popular TV series called ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ and is expected to be released in November 2009. The game is named ‘SpongeBob’s Truth or Square’.

The plot revolves around SpongeBob losing the recipe to keep Mr. Krabs Krabby Patty formula, which had been given to him for safe keeping in preparation for Krusty Krab’s Eleventy Seventh anniversary. SpongeBob takes the help of Plankton even though the latter is known to want the secret recipe for his own use. Normally these two characters don’t get on well together. So, SpongeBob’s other friends help him to use the memory machine that Plankton has, to go back and remember the fate of the Krabby Patty formula.

In the game as played out on the PSP, SpongeBob can become an Explosive Canon to aim at and hit the bad guys. Other options are to make him into Sledgehammer Smash to stun the opposition or turn him into WaterBob Sponge, who stuns the intruders by spewing liquid. The game looks at ‘the 10 happiest moments of SpongeBob’s life’ taken from the animated TV serial and players are able to remember their own favourite moments from it. In multi player action one can play Planktons character while the other does SpongeBob. Some of the story elements are totally hilarious!

This video game is based on the TV serial’s 10th anniversary and will follow the earlier game released on PSP, which was ‘SpongeBob SquarePants: The Yellow Avenger’ and also ‘Underpants Slam!’ which was released for Xbox.

As with other games released on PSP, this too is expected to be a best seller, based on the fact that the original TV serial itself has a great fan following – and not just among kids! It can easily make the Greatest Hits range of budget titles that Sony CEA had announced back in 2006, the first lot being released that same year. The Greatest Hits line-up includes games that have sold more than 250,000 copies, such as the Spongebob Squarepants series.

Original UMD are hard to find, so people prefer PSP ISO

What is PSP ISO and how to download it?

Are you live in Indonesia? If you live in this country then you’ll hard to find an original game rather than PSP ISO. Any games, like PSX, PS2, PSP, Wii, X-Box, X-Box 360, Gamecube, DS, and PC Games. When you download an .ISO that has been compressed using WinRAR/WinZIP/etc. be sure to install WinRAR and you that to unpack it. If it unpacks to a single file with a name.ISO label, then you are done, go ahead and copy that file to the ISO folder in the ROOT directory of your PSP.

However, sometimes the author of the file just renames the .ISO to .RAR/.ZIP or some other random file extension, but actually did nothig to alter the data. In this case, whe unpacking the file, you will see folders and files (i.e. EBOOT.PBP) that were not intended to be extracted. Just try renaming the extension to .ISO and load that file in the ISO folder as explained above.

Lastly, UMDEmulator v0.8c is the best ISO loader period. Fastloader, DevHOOK, etc. are only good to have around if you are trying to run one of the very first UMD games and have problems with Load settings for flash M0/M1, boot.bin, Direct/Menu Load configurations in UMDEmulator v0.8c. Previous UMD’s loaded directly into gameplay, bipassing the psp menu when returning from a softboot or reset. Newer UMD’s allow the psp menu to run first if the last used options was something other than the game UMD (i.e. Music, Photo, Video). Fastloader and DevHOOK were designed around the first iteration of UMD load procedure and therefore experience problems when attempting to load the Newer ones. UMDEmulator v0.8c incorporates compatibility settings for the old as well as the new, but requires settings options to be changed in some cases.

Instead of finding an original game, you’ll find a lot of retailers selling a bunch of copied games. For DVD it’s usually sell for 10.000 IDR which is just 1 USD. This condition is very terrible for a game developer. But, I’ll tell you the solution, just download the ISO file then copy it into your PSP MSD. But, remember, your PSP must have been using Custom Firmware (CFW). These is the site that offered a free download of PSP ISO:
www.pspmaniaonline.com direct download and torrent
www.pspisoz.com megaupload
www.rom-gods.net direct download
www.roms-central.com direct download
www.pspiso.us direct download
www.tehparadox.com rapidshare
If you want more PSP ISO just go to mininova which is using the torrent method.
