Jakarta (ANTARA News) – The next generation of high speed wireless internet services, tablet devices, smartphones and other mobile gadgets comes more quickly than expected.

Two of the largest U.S. communications company, AT & T Inc. and Verizon Wireless plans to speed up their networks and deliver a powerful tool for consumers during this holiday season by cooperating with partners such as Motorola Inc., Samsung Electronics, and LG Electronics.

AT & T plans to add speed to be three times as much for high speed wireless internet services at home, and twice the wireless network, while Verizon Wireless is ready to launch high-speed mobile phone earlier than previously thought.

“We still have plenty of opportunities in wireless,” said John Stankey, AT & T’s chief operating officer, which ignored the advice some telecommunications analysts today that the industry’s exponential growth has ended.

“We are at the forefront of the growth cycle (10 years) mobile phones today,” he said at the Reuters Global Technology Summit in New York on Friday.

While wireless carriers have to depend on data services for growth, because most people already have cell phones, Stankey saw an opportunity in business applications. When the industry to add wireless connectivity to their devices, such as medical devices and security systems, each vertical business could eventually produce 1 billion in revenue a year, he said.

Stankey announced at the summit that AT & T will be able to have double the speed of high speed wireless internet services in markets covering more than 250 million users in the fourth quarter, using a technology known as HSPA Plus.

Upgrades that require additional investment of several million dollars, a “rounding error” compared to the amount of capital spent on AT & T is increased to 19 billion dollars for 2010, he said.

AT & T Broadband also plans to hold a hearing in June that allows Web surfing with a speed of 80 megabits per second (mbps), far above the current limit of 24 mbps and in excess of 50 mbps service offered by Verizon Communications Inc.

If the test is successful then the commercial service will begin early next year, said Stankey.

LTE Technology

Meanwhile, Verizon Wireless is building high speed wireless internet services of technology-based Long Term Evolution (LTE).

The company Verizon Communications and Vodafone Group Plc plans to offer LTE to the potential customer base of 100 million people in 25 to 30 state marketing area, including New York City later this year, according to Verizon Wireless CEO Lowell McAdam.

McAdam also presented his plan launched several new devices began with a tablet device to rival Apple’s iPad her.

He plans to sell most of the gadgets that use Google’s Android Software Inc. in the fourth quarter.

“There’s no reason we cannot  have (such devices) iPad,” McAdam said adding that the first tablet device will use the Android software from rivals Motorola, Samsung, and LG.

Verizon Wireless also plans to sell five of LTE mobile phones in May, faster than some analysts estimated. McAdam said that Motorola, HTC Corp., LG, and Research In Motion could run in front.

Verizon has already sold a smart phone HTC Droid Incredible seeing stronger sales than expected. McAdam said the shortage on the screen made by Samsung has hurt the company’s ability to maintain strong demand.

In addition to telephone, wireless networks also encourage U.S. computer technology anywhere.

Renewal of AT & T HSPA Plus was first intended for laptop users and give them double the download speed for watching videos and other heavy-bandwidth applications.

Stankey said it is not clear when compatible phones will be HSPA-plus on the market or whether the vendor will focus on rival technology, LTE, Reuters reported.

He said AT & T spent more time when he had to increase its network capabilities that have been absorbed by the high number of iPhone users who needs high speed wireless internet services.

Stankey said the market like New York and San Francisco, where the high speed wireless internet services network is under huge pressure, must be overcome with good across the region late this summer.
