Fix all problems loading Windows XP
A lot of computer users are generally facing the booting problems in Windows XP. It is mainly caused by corrupted Windows XP operating system. In this case, computer hardware appears to power up okay but the Windows XP operating system would not boot properly. There are some basic Windows xp troubleshooting steps in order to get rid of booting problems in Windows. We are providing the following troubleshooting steps in case Windows XP would not boot:–
A. Use a Windows Startup Disk:–
We need to create a Windows startup disk for this method. We can create a Windows startup disk by the following steps:–
1. Double click on the “My Computer” icon on your Desktop.
6. Then click the “Start” button to begin creating your Startup Disk.
7. Windows will display a warning that Formatting erase all data or your disk. 8. Windows will then display a progress indicator bar denoting the status of your System Disk.
11. Click on the “Close” button to close the Format 3½ Floppy (A:) window.
You should insert Windows startup disk into the floppy drive on the afflicted system and press [Ctrl][Alt][Delete] to reboot the computer. When you boot from the Windows startup disk, the computer will bypass the active partition and boot files on the hard disk and attempt to start Windows XP normally.
C. Use System Restore:–
System Restore is a kind of system recovery tool to return your computer to a previous state when computer was functioning properly. System Restore takes “snapshots” of critical system files and some program files and registry settings and stores all these information as restore points. System Restore allows the rolling back of system files, registry keys and installed programs etc. to a previous state in case of failure or malfunctioning of computer.
Recovery Console can be accessed from the original Windows installation CD. E. Fix Corrupt Boot.INI:–
1. Your Windows XP has too many programs set to start when you boot your computer. This is the reason # 1 for Windows XP slow start.
2. Windows XP needs at least 512 megabytes of RAM for a kick start.
Too many items in the home
Having too many programs set to start when you start Windows XP is the # 1 reason for a slow start Windows XP (and your computer is slow after boots).
MSCONFIG can load the following steps:
1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Type MSCONFIG and click OK
4. Click the Startup tab
In the Startup tab you can view all items that are set to start when you boot the computer for computer repair (each point with a trademark try to load on startup)!
Click Apply.
Click OK.
Click Restart. Simply click the checkbox and click OK. Windows XP Home has improved dramatically.
Do you have enough RAM?
Windows XP requires at least 512 megabytes of RAM (memory) for quick start.
Here is how to find out how much RAM you have:
1. Click on “My Computer”
2. Click Properties
3. The second to last line say it’s of RAM your computer has.

1. Go to Crucial.com (link opens a new window).
2. Crucial Memory Usage Advisor click the dropdown menu and select the manufacturer of your computer (such as HP, Dell, Apple)
3. Click the Go button.
5. Click Search.
7. Click Search.
